Life at the Farm
Happiness in pictures: clouds over the Genekha Valley, blossom and harvest in the orchard, meals from our kitchen and the days our guests spend with us. Tap any photo to see it larger.
The farm and the view
Our farmhouse sits on a hillside in Dogar, looking across the valley to the 17th-century Langka Monastery and the Genekha Valley.

Orchard and harvest
Apples, Japanese pears, cherries and even avocados, picked fresh in season.

From our kitchen
Organic meals made with what grows on our farms in Paro and the Punakha Valley, from garden salads to wild mushrooms in season.

Farm experiences
Plough with oxen, plant a native tree, watch a mask dance or end the day by the bonfire.

People of the farm
The family and neighbours who make the farm what it is.

With deepest gratitude
Azha Jichu, the heart behind the farm
Azha Jichu, uncle of our co-founder Kezang, has stood behind The Happiness Farm for 20 years. He has helped with every stage of its growth, from the first terraces and trees to the farmhouse that welcomes guests today.
At 84, he is still active on the farm and still helping every day. We share our deepest appreciation and gratitude for his support and his love, and we dedicate this page to him with prayers for his long life and prosperity.
