About The Happiness Farm

A family-run organic farm in Dogar, Paro, and Bhutan’s first regenerative eco farm stay.

The Happiness Farm brings together rustic charm and modern comfort on a hillside above the Paro valley, with a million-dollar view of the 17th-century Langka Monastery and the Genekha Valley. Guests stay in one of our 8 wood-panelled rooms, join guided farm tours and outdoor activities, and eat in our farm-to-table restaurant.

Our ingredients come from our fields and orchards in Paro and from our sister farm in the Punakha Valley, which grows more than 22 kinds of fruit and vegetables. Everything is grown organically, and everything is done with love. We farm regeneratively: we aim to leave the soil, water, forests and community healthier than we found them, and we have pledged to plant one million trees. Just as important, we teach: we train women from our community in farming and hospitality, and welcome children, schools, colleges and universities, farmers, researchers and anyone interested in agriculture and organic farming to see, touch and taste where real food comes from, and why organic food is good for body and mind.

Meet your hosts

The Happiness Farm was founded by Dorji and his wife Kezang Wangmo. After 18 years in conservation and public service, Dorji turned to farming to serve his community in a more hands-on way. Together they welcome every guest personally.
